What Is ADETS?

ADETS is the acronym for Alcohol Drug Education Traffic School. ADETS is an education program provided to clients with a first-time DWI conviction. To be eligible for this specific DWI substance abuse education program, the client must not meet the criteria for a substance abuse disorder but be at risk for the development of such disorders in the future. Another component of eligibility is that the client’s BAC (blood alcohol concentration) is confirmed to be a .14 or less. The program that has been approved for ADETS in North Carolina is called Prime for Life and is delivered to clients by a certified ADETS instructor. For more information about the ADETS program or to register for in person and online ADETS classes, give our staff at Behavioral Intervention Center a call and we will be more than happy to help.
