What is an Alcohol Assessment?
An alcohol assessment is a complete review of alcohol use and how it has or potentially could impact a client’s life. Based on data collected during the face-to-face interview, a needs assessment is performed which determines whether education or treatment services would enhance the client’s level of functioning. Collateral resource examination such as the relationship with alcohol, prior alcohol-related arrests, personal and professional impact, and physical and psychological concerns are evaluated and compared to clinical criteria to determine whether the client meets criteria for diagnosis of an alcohol use disorder. If you have been advised that you need a drug or alcohol assessment or personally feel that alcohol may be a problem, please reach out to our staff at Behavioral Health Intervention Center to assist you with scheduling an appointment with a Certified or Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor who is happy to help.
