Individual Counseling and Mental Health Groups

At Behavioral Health Intervention Center we offer individual counseling for clients seeking to speak with a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for issues stemming around mental disorders, anxiety, depression, stress managment, grief and loss, relationship issues, life transitions, and self discovery.

Furthermore, our counselors have specialized training and experience working with adolescents and adults who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. We do not take insurance but will accept health saving and flex spending cards, credit/debit, and cash. The fee for service is $100 for a full one-hour session and $40 to attend the 90 minute Mental Health Group. We offered our Mental Health Therapeutic Groups on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-8:00pm at our University/North Charlotte location. Our LGBTQ+ therapeutic group is offered on Monday evenings from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Please contact our office at 704-458-9292 to inquire, schedule an appointment, or sign up for group.

LGBTQ+ Therapeutic Group

Goal: to open our doors to all individuals, create a SAFE environment for individuals to express themselves, represent unconditional positive regard, and to communicate with clients with compassion. Our LGBTQ groups are open to those of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning their sexuality.

Mental Health Counseling Group

Are you experiencing overwhelming stress? Anxiety? Depression? Mood Disorders? At Behavioral Health Intervention Center we are offering you a chance to join a psycho-educational group hosted once a week to help lower those overwhelming emotions or experiences.

By attending this mental health group you will have the ability to learn new coping skills, grounding techniques, gain support from counselors and group members, learn better ways to manage life and experience self exploration.

Who Leads the Mental Health Group?

The group will be facilitated by a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, with the help of clinical mental health interns. The facilitator is also dual licensed as a Substance Abuse Counselor as well, which fosters versatility/ openness/ understanding/ acceptance/ empathy/ warmth/ authenticity.
